Dasylirion acrotrichum commonly known as the Great Desert Spoon also called green Sotol. It is a plant native to northern and central Mexico. This is also an ornamental evergreen plant. The plant grows up to 6 feet (1.8m) tall by the same in diameter. The foliage is firm narrow bladed leaves up to 40 inches long (1 m), grass-like and 0.4 inch across (1 cm). The leaves are symmetrically radiating in a rosette, from a central core that elongates into decumbent trunks. It blooms white flowers in mid summer. The flowers are 6 to 15 feet tall (2-5 m). People like to plant it in their garden.
