The Bird's nest fern or Asplenium nidus, is a native to tropical southeastern Asia, eastern Australia, Hawaii and eastern Africa. It loves the shade and is found nesting on trees, where the wind blows their spores to. The Bird’s nest fern reproduces from spores that are under the fronds that create V-shaped brown patterns. People do plant them on their garden’s trees and in pots.
